A Lovely Shelter Pup Was Hours Away From Euthanasia When This Woman Rushed In

Dog Scheduled For Euthanasia Gets Rescued Just In Time

Noodle, a shelter pup, faced euthanasia because of his health issues, with no one willing to take him in.

Alone in his kennel the night before, he had no idea that a kind woman was about to change his fate forever.

A Last-Minute Rescue

Noodle was a sweet pup with a degenerative brain disease. His condition caused him to faint unexpectedly and made him wobble when he walked.

After being brought to a Detroit shelter, his previous owners never claimed him, and no one stepped forward to adopt him.

When his stray hold ended, the vet recommended euthanasia, and his fate was sealed.

His euthanasia was scheduled for the next day.

Tiffany Perkins, the founder of PAWS Friend Network—a sanctuary and advocacy group for special-needs and senior shelter dogs—learned about Noodle that night. She couldn’t stop thinking about him.

By morning, she rushed to the shelter, determined to save his life.

A Home Full Of Love

The moment Perkins brought Noodle home, she knew he belonged there. His affectionate nature melted her heart, and the bond between them was instant.

At first, she wasn’t sure if Noodle would be a hospice case, but one thing was certain—he would be showered with love and given the best life possible.

Noodle quickly bonded with Perkins’ other dog, Luke, and the two became inseparable. They comforted each other, often snuggling up together.

Realizing that Noodle had been severely underweight, Perkins put him on a special diet. With proper care, he slowly started gaining weight and building strength.

He expressed his gratitude in the sweetest way—by covering his new mom’s face with kisses every chance he got.

Perkins also learned more about his condition. His fainting episodes were triggered by excitement, so she worked hard to create a peaceful and predictable environment for him.

She lowered her bed so Noodle could get in and out easily, placed a cozy couch near the window, and ensured he had a quiet, stress-free home.

Seeing him happy and seeing the world out of his window is one of the greatest joys that I’ve ever had in my life.

One of Noodle’s favorite things was watching the rain while cuddled up with his mom and his brother. In those moments, he felt completely safe and loved.

A Second Chance At Happiness

Despite his challenges, Noodle loved life. He enjoyed going on walks, visiting the beach, and soaking in the beauty of the world around him. His sparkling eyes and big smile showed just how happy he was.

Perkins adores Noodle and affectionately describes him as “the biggest, sweetest marshmallow.”

She credits him for helping her through one of the most difficult times in her life, saying that his presence was a source of comfort and healing.

Noodle is such a comfort to me personally… His timing and coming here was so perfect. We were grieving the loss of our previous dog, and he really helped heal us through that process. And I think it’s because he’s just so kind and so sweet and just such a big teddy bear,” shared Perkins.

Thanks to her kindness, Noodle is now living the life he always deserved—surrounded by love, care, and a family that treasures him.

Perkins continues to advocate for senior and disabled shelter dogs, giving them the second chances they deserve. And for Noodle, that second chance changed everything.
