Brave Mama Dog Left Tied To A Tree Fights To Survive Until Rescuers Arrived

Angel, a one-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky and German Shepherd mix, was found tied to a tree at Iglesia Park in Aliso Viejo, California.
But she wasn’t alone—she had seven tiny puppies by her side. Helpless and unable to protect herself or her babies, Angel’s situation looked dire.
Thankfully, rescuers soon arrived and stepped in right on time.
Rescued Just In Time
After safely rescuing Angel and her puppies, the team brought them to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
No one knew exactly how long they had been left there or who had abandoned them.
The City of Mission Viejo, CA – Local Government later shared in a Facebook post that no food, water, or shelter had been provided for Angel and her pups.
Fortunately, it seemed they hadn’t been there too long before help arrived.
Their timing was critical—coyotes roam freely during mating season, especially around that area. Had rescuers come any later, things could have turned out very differently.
When they checked for a microchip, they found none, but there were no signs of mistreatment either. Angel and her puppies appeared healthy and safe.
The staff at the center quickly fell in love with her gentle spirit.
“She rolls over in submission when getting pets and will crawl up into your lap for attention,” said Kelly Tokarski, public information specialist for the City of Mission Viejo. “Simply put, Angel is a great dog. She just needs a wonderful home to give her the love she deserves.”
Before they could move on to the next chapter, Angel and her puppies were given baths, vaccinations, and plenty of care.
The Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) stepped in to provide medical supplies and support.
It didn’t take long for the puppies to find their forever homes. Angel, though, being so young herself, had to wait a little longer.
A Happy Ending
But the wait was worth it. Angel’s story quickly spread after it was shared on KNBC Channel 4 and went viral on social media.
“Just 24 hours after Angel’s story aired on KNBC Channel 4 and went viral via the City’s social media, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center experienced a surge in adoption applications for this sweet Siberian husky-German shepherd mix,” the City of Mission Viejo, CA – Local Government posted.
Finally, a loving family from Murrieta, California, opened their hearts to Angel.
Having recently lost several pets, they were ready to welcome a new furry friend—and Angel was exactly what they needed.
Thanks to so many kind people, this brave mom and her puppies got a fresh start and the happy lives they deserve.
