A Rough Start, But A Fighting Spirit
Flipflop’s life began with heartbreak. Only days old, he was abandoned by his mother simply because he was different.
Born with a front leg deformity, he was left to struggle for survival, his fragile body fighting for every breath.

Rescuers from Bosley’s Place in Georgia couldn’t stand by and let this little fighter suffer. They took him in and gave him the love and care he so desperately needed.
Despite his tiny size, Flipflop showed an enormous will to live. He latched onto his bottle without hesitation, his appetite strong, and with each passing day, he gained strength.

“Other than the obvious deformity of his front left leg, he appears to be very healthy with a great appetite,” the Bosley’s Place team shared on Facebook.
Under the watchful eyes of his rescuers, Flipflop thrived. Within weeks, the once-rejected pup blossomed into a playful, joyful little ball of fluff.
He quickly became the heart of the rescue, winning everyone over with his infectious personality.
Playing and socializing with other pups, Flipflop acted as if his rough start had never happened. But one question remained—what would happen with his deformed leg?
A Special Pup Gets The Best News
The rescue team worried that Flipflop’s front leg might need to be amputated to prevent future complications. As he grew, they anxiously awaited an answer from the vet.

“He’s getting around just fine, it doesn’t bother him whatsoever, and because he’s not a 60+ pound dog, he’s not dragging it and it is not at risk of infection so… He gets to keep the leg,” BP joyfully announced on Facebook.
Flipflop was not only surviving, but he was thriving!

As soon as he was cleared for adoption, the best news arrived—Flipflop had found his forever home!

Nikki and her family, devoted dog lovers, welcomed him with open arms. The team at Bosley’s Place was thrilled, knowing that this special pup had found the perfect family.
But Nikki’s kindness didn’t stop there! In addition to Flipflop—now named Butters—her family also adopted two other special-needs pups, Griff and Henry.

“He has an amazing family, truly incredible… Not only did they adopt Flipflop, now Butters, but they also adopted TWO of our other special-needs puppies, Griff and Henry, now Hank,” BP shared in an update.
