Rescuer Saves Poor Dog With Swollen Face And Discovers The Heartbreaking Cause
Chunk the Hunk, a dog found with a swollen face, was severely mistreated by his owners.

A Shocking Discovery
While driving along a road in California, a volunteer from R.A.D. Rescue spotted a dog with an unusually swollen face.
Concerned, she pulled over and quickly realized why his face was so chubby.

A tight chain had been wrapped around the dog’s neck for so long that it caused severe swelling. This poor dog had been suffering silently, enduring pain caused by neglect and cruelty.

The sight was heartbreaking, but the volunteer knew she had to act fast. Using some chicken to coax him, she gently led the dog, who would later be named Chunk the Hunk, into her car.
Despite the pain he was in, Chunk appeared calm, almost as if he was relieved that someone was finally there to help him.

Recovering And Starting To Blossom
Chunk was taken to the nearest veterinary clinic, where he received immediate medical attention. Despite the severity of the swelling, the vet assured the rescuer that it was treatable.
