Shelter Pittie Caught On Camera Jumping Over Wall to Stay With Her Buddy

A heartwarming video from a Minneapolis animal shelter shows two Pittie girls sharing an unbreakable bond.

Pittie Brenda wasn’t happy with being separated from her street buddy, Linda. Placed in adjacent kennels, the separation didn’t sit well with her.

The next morning, what happened melted everyone’s hearts.

Rescued Together From The Streets

Brenda and Linda, a bonded pair of Pit bulls, were found roaming the streets of Minneapolis together. Rescued by Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC), they were given temporary shelter.

Unaware of their powerful bond, MACC staff placed the girls in separate kennels side by side.

Brenda, not liking this at all, decided to take matters into her own paws. She leapt a five-foot cement wall to be with Linda.

Caught On Camera

When MACC volunteers arrived the next morning, they found Brenda in Linda’s kennel. They reviewed the security footage and discovered Brenda’s daring leap to be with her friend.

The staff then moved the Pitties to a bigger kennel so they could stay together. They also shared the security footage online, touching hearts across the United States.

They didn’t anticipate the overwhelming interest in adopting the two girls. The only stipulation was that they be adopted together, ensuring they’d never be separated again.

They Got Adopted Together

Initially not planning to adopt another dog soon, they saw the video of Brenda and Linda and decided to visit the shelter.

After spending just thirty minutes with the Pitties, they decided to adopt them!

“The day before, I didn’t want any other dog. We had lost our dog after thirteen and a half years. [...] The fact that she had to take care of her buddy, I was just thinking to myself, and this is gonna sound corny, I really thought my Sampson has something to do with this.” Kathy shared with KARE 11.

Now, Brenda and Linda are thriving in their new home, happy to be together. They finally have the loving home they deserve.

“I don’t think she’s gonna be one of those escape artists because as long as she sees Linda, she’s all good!” Kathy said to KARE 11 when asked if she was worried about Brenda jumping fences again.
