Woman Can’t Hold Back Tears After Finding A Scared Pup Left Tied To A Crate

Explorer’s eyes reflected his sadness and confusion as he sat tied to a crate, abandoned in a park.

Unsure of what had happened, the helpless pup kept his gaze down, his face full of heartbreak.

A Heartbreaking Find

Tiffany Maki, a former dog rescuer, was preparing to leave the park with her dogs when she noticed a small pup sitting alone in the grass near the entrance.

The sight of the dog tied to a folded crate broke her heart.

Realizing he wasn’t there earlier, she understood that someone had abandoned him while she was playing with her dogs.

Named Explorer, the scared pup barked defensively at passersby, trying to mask his overwhelming fear.

Maki, with her experience, saw through his frightened demeanor and knew he was simply a confused, lonely dog who didn’t understand why he’d been left behind.

“As I would walk closer, he would bark and lunge at me to make me keep my distance. I knew no one else probably would have tried to grab him for fear of being bitten,” Maki shared with The Dodo.

Determined to help him, she patiently stayed by his side, speaking softly until she earned his trust. Eventually, Explorer allowed her to slip a leash around his neck, his fear giving way to a glimmer of hope.

A Chance For Happiness

Once safely in Maki’s home, Explorer began to shed his fears and reveal his sweet nature.

“After getting home, [he] was the SWEETEST dog and SO well trained. He was crate and potty trained, [and] he knew how to sit, shake, lay down, roll over, beg and heel. Someone loved him at some point,” Maki shared.

Grateful for her care, Explorer basked in her affection, his eyes shining with trust and gratitude.

Maki contacted Schnauzer Rescue of Texas in Houston, where she secured a place for Explorer.

After spending the night in her home, she took him to the rescue’s vet for vaccines and care.

Soon, Explorer moved into a foster home in Woodlands, Texas, where he was surrounded by love and began his search for a forever family.

It didn’t take long for the sweet pup to find his perfect match. His new family eagerly welcomed him with open arms, showering him with kisses and the love he had longed for.

Now, Explorer thrives in his new home, feeling safe and adored as he enjoys a life filled with joy and affection.
