Bubba’s Big Turnaround
No one really knows how long Bubba had been out there on his own, but the day he appeared on a porch, he made it clear he was looking for someone to care.

His body told a story of hardship—scratches and scars showed he’d probably been in more than one rough encounter.
Sadly, the person who found him already had dogs and couldn’t offer him a place to stay, so Bubba was taken to a shelter.
“He was found as a stray. Apparently, what happened was the girl that had dogs, he was like at her front door, and she said he was actually friendly, but she had dogs and she couldn’t take care of another dog,” Norma explained to GeoBeats Animals.

Despite how sweet he was, time passed with no adoption. Bubba was dangerously close to being put down when Dan and Norma heard about him.
They decided to step in—and that decision saved his life.
Bubba made a long journey from California to Seattle, where a new beginning waited for him.
A Slow But Hopeful Start
Adjusting to his new environment wasn’t easy.
Bubba seemed unsure of everything—he didn’t know what to do with toys and wouldn’t join in during playtime.

Norma shared, “He was probably kept in a crate a lot, so he had really bad knees as well. He kind of walks like he’s older than he is. They said he was five, but we don’t know for sure.”
Thankfully, Bubba wasn’t alone. Dan and Norma already had two dogs, Shanti and Zoe, and they slowly helped him figure things out.
He would quietly observe their play, learning bit by bit what it meant to have fun without fear.
“Bubba is finding his playful side! He has been watching Zoey and Shanti play. He’s learning that the girls are playing and not fighting,” his new parents posted on Instagram.

Bubba began joining the fun, running around, and revealing his silly habits—like lying in odd poses or trying anything for a treat.
