After Living In A Junkyard His Whole Life, This Dog Finally Gets The Home He Deserves

To survive alone, a small Terrier mix found an unexpected place to call home—a junkyard. Amid the piles of clutter and chaos, this little dog found shelter and people who would feed him.

But sadly, no one cared enough to give him a real home.

Flash Was Loved, But Not Enough

Flash spent his whole life living in a junkyard in California.

Though the workers there liked him and made sure he had food, they couldn’t provide him with the warm, safe home he deserved.

While he was fed and cared for, living among all the disorder of the junkyard wasn’t the same as having a real home.

Finally, a security guard who worked at the junkyard reached out to a local rescue group, Hope For Paws, for help.

“Everyone at the junkyard loved Flash. They enjoyed seeing him, feeding him, and petting him, but no one took him home. Luckily, one employee got worried about him with a major storm approaching and called us for help,” Hope For Paws shared.

Eldad, the founder of Hope For Paws, along with rescuer Loreta Frankonyte, went to the junkyard to rescue Flash before the storm hit.

When they got there, it was clear the workers cared for Flash—they made sure he was well-fed and looked after—but no one had given him a proper home.

His makeshift shelter was a tarp and cardboard boxes, and he was sleeping on a wet floor, which made him dirty and uncomfortable.

“The worker who reached out knew Flash deserved better,” Hope For Paws said.

Flash wasn’t starving for food; he was longing for love and comfort, things the junkyard could never offer.

Getting Flash Out Of The Junkyard

Getting Flash to safety wasn’t difficult. He easily let them put on a leash and guide him to the carrier.

Before they left, the security guard wished Flash good luck and asked for photos of him after his bath, showing how much he cared for the dog.

Once they arrived at the rescue facility, Flash was given medical care and a nice, warm bath.

Though he was a little unsure about being indoors for the first time, he quickly settled in and was happy to be clean.

Luckily, Foxy and the Hounds, a Los Angeles-based rescue group, stepped in to foster Flash. It didn’t take long for this sweet 6-year-old dog to find his forever home.

Just a few days later, at an adoption event hosted by Foxy and the Hounds, Flash met the perfect person and was adopted.

“We have no doubt our rescues end up exactly where they belong. Our hearts are full knowing that Flash and others will now enjoy a lifetime filled with love, cuddles, and the best families,” the rescue shared on their Facebook page.
