This Dog Rescued From Euthanasia Can’t Stop Showing His Joy

This story is about Gregory, a beagle whose life was saved just in time by a compassionate rescuer.

Gregory was on the brink of being euthanized due to his medical condition when a kindhearted man stepped in to give him a second chance.

Saved From The Brink

Many pets face euthanasia when their medical needs become too costly for their owners, and Gregory was one of them.

He was just two days away from his scheduled euthanization when Joe Kirk, a dedicated animal rescuer, came to his aid.

Joe and his wife, Schenley, run Hound Rescue and Animal Sanctuary in Findlay, Ohio. Their mission is to save neglected dogs, provide care for older pups, and help them find loving forever homes.

Gregory was lucky enough to become one of their success stories.

After his rescue, Gregory’s gratitude was undeniable.

Schenley shared on Facebook: “Gregory is one thankful and appreciative Beagle! He KNOWS he is SAFE! We will get him healthy and provide him all the love he so deserves and a wonderful future!”

Gregory’s Road to Recovery

Once under the care of the Kirks, Gregory was treated for heartworm disease. Despite his health issues, he remained cheerful and full of hope.

The sanctuary staff ensured he was well-cared for and prepared him for adoption.

It wasn’t long before a loving family came forward to welcome Gregory into their lives.

Now, he enjoys his days with his new family and even has a beagle sibling to play with.

Reflecting on their work, Schenley shared: “We are often asked how many dogs we have saved. The answer that always comes to mind is, we have saved one more. One more dog is safe and will have all of the love and respect that they are so deserving of.”

Gregory’s story reminds us how far a little kindness can go. Because of the Kirks’ dedication, one more dog found safety, love, and a new lease on life.
