Tiny Puppy With Deformed Leg Rejected By His Mom Grows Into The Sweetest Little Teddy Bear
Flipflop was rejected by his mother just days after he was born, left to face the world completely on his own.
But thanks to a rescue’s quick action and a lot of love, this tiny pup’s life took a beautiful turn.
Left Behind And Fighting To Survive
Flipflop didn’t have the easiest beginning.
Just days after being born, he was left all alone when his mother rejected him. Born with a deformity in his front leg, the tiny pup struggled just to survive.
But his story was far from over.

That’s when help arrived.
A kind-hearted team from Bosley’s Place in Georgia took Flipflop in and promised to give him a fighting chance.
From the moment he had a warm bottle and loving hands to care for him, Flipflop began to thrive. He quickly latched onto the bottle and started putting on weight day by day.

“Other than the obvious deformity of his front left leg, he appears to be very healthy with a great appetite,” the rescue shared on Facebook.
Growing Stronger Every Day
The team at Bosley’s Place kept a close eye on him.
In just a few weeks, the once-fragile pup transformed into a happy, playful little dog. He made friends easily and became the star of the rescue with his sweet, friendly nature.
Even though he was full of life, his caregivers still had one concern—whether his deformed leg might need to be removed. But as Flipflop grew, that question was answered.

“He’s getting around just fine, it doesn’t bother him whatsoever and because he’s not a 60+ pound dog, he’s not dragging it and it is not at risk of infection so… He gets to keep the leg,” BP wrote on Facebook.
And just like that, Flipflop got to stay exactly as he was—unique, strong, and unstoppable.
A New Name And A New Beginning
When Flipflop was finally ready for adoption, something wonderful happened.
Nikki and her family, long-time dog lovers, stepped up to bring him home. The team at the rescue was thrilled.
Knowing he was going to such a loving home brought them so much joy.

But Nikki’s kindness didn’t stop there.
In addition to adopting Flipflop—now lovingly renamed Butters—the family also welcomed Griff and Henry (now called Hank), two more special-needs pups from the same rescue.
“He has an amazing family, truly incredible…” the rescue shared in an update. “Not only did they adopt Flipflop, now Butters, but they also adopted TWO of our other special-needs puppies.”

Today, Butters is living the dream. He has a warm home, loving humans, and dog siblings to share his days with.
And while he may have started as the pup no one wanted, he’s become exactly who he was meant to be—a cherished member of a very special family.
