Pup Hiding In Trash Pile Under Highway Starts Wagging Tail When He Spots Rescuers

Some dogs are just waiting for someone to notice them.
That’s exactly what happened with Gibson.
One driver kept seeing him in the same spot, until they finally decided to make the call that changed everything.
The Trash Pile Discovery
A concerned person reported seeing the same dog near the road day after day.
Donna Lochmann from the St. Louis rescue team went out to find him, but at first, she couldn’t spot the pup. Still, something told her to wait.
Soon, she heard a sound coming from a nearby trash pile—and there he was.
Gibson peeked out with curious eyes, unsure whether to trust her.
Donna spoke to him gently and offered some food, trying to earn his trust. He didn’t take the food, but he let her get close enough to pet him.
That gave her the chance to slip a leash around his head. After a moment, Gibson bravely followed her to the car.
A New Start For Gibson
Back at the shelter, Gibson got a warm bath and a full meal. He was safe at last.

Later, the shelter shared some tough news on Facebook:
“Sadly, we have to go on another rescue freeze. We loved being on the streets this week, but more animals are coming in than are leaving. We don’t want to do this, we’ve been fighting it. But we have to say it because it’s the truth.”
Even in hard times, Gibson’s rescue reminds us that every act of kindness matters.
